Everything you need to know to get up and running.
Download the Apps
We recommend that members download the Scottish Golf and BRS Golf mobile apps. These apps enable you to conveniently book tee times and participate in competitions. They are accessible on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
Scottish Golf App
The main purpose of this app is to facilitate event registration, scorecard creation, score submission, and handicap monitoring. It also allows you to top up your Competition Account to enable you to enter our Sweeps and Two's, and also permits submission of General Play rounds.
It is crucial to maintain accurate and current contact information to ensure you receive important Club communications. This becomes especially vital when participating in knockout competitions, as fellow golfers may need to reach out to you to arrange matches. You can manage this information in the My Account section of the app.

Golf South Ayrshire Season Ticket
We recommend that members consider obtaining a South Ayrshire Golf Season Ticket to fully maximise the advantages of being part of Troon St. Meddans Golf Club. Since we don't own the courses, having this ticket will prove cost-effective in the long term if you plan to frequently participate in our fixtures. More information can be found on Golf South Ayrshire website.
Acquiring a Handicap
If you're joining the club without a handicap, no worries. We suggest that you arrange tee times alongside our members. Most members play on competition days and you can book alongside them using the Scottish Golf App before starting your round. Our members are friendly and will assist you around the course, offering guidance where needed.
If you need assistance in organising rounds for your handicap please contact our Membership Secretary explaining when you would like to arrange a round. We also operate a Buddy system to assist new members and pair you up with another member to help you obtain your handicap.
After you complete your round, submit your score as a General Play round using the Scottish Golf App. Once you've submitted three General Play rounds through the Scottish Golf App, you should receive a handicap with Scottish Golf in 24 hours.
Paying Membership Fees
After receiving confirmation from the Club that your membership application has been processed, you will receive an invoice from the Club via email. Once payment is completed by following the instructions in the email, you will gain access to our website and will be able to enter our events via the app.

Entering Sweeps
Paying in
While registering for an event, you will have an option to enter the Sweeps and Magic Twos. Participation in these is voluntary, with a £2.00 fee for each. If you choose to enter, the cost is deducted from your Competition Account. It's important to note that you can't enter the Magic Twos without also entering the Sweeps. All entries into Magic Twos without a corresponding Sweep entry will be refunded.
Payouts
Sweeps collected from each division are accumulated and winnings are awarded to first, second and third place for both Division One and Division Two respectively.
Magic Twos winnings are paid out from the total amount collected from both Division One and Division Two. The amount is split between the number of players who manage to make a two during their round. For anyone who makes multiple twos during their round the amount won for one two will be multiplied respectively. If the calculation between the number of players who make a two and the amount in the Magic Twos pot results in an amount less than £5 the Club will subsidise the difference. Therefore the least amount you will ever win for getting a Magic Two is £5.00.
The club retains a 5% levy on all Sweeps and Magic Twos. Winnings will be added to your Competition Account. At the end of the season, you have the option to have your winnings paid out to you. This must be requested prior to the prize giving in November. A value of £20 will be kept in your Competition Account to help ensure you have enough credit to enter future sweeps.
